Claire Connor

Claire Connor is a Student Recruitment Officer in TUS Athlone. Claire completed her undergraduate studies at the National University of Ireland, Galway with a Bachelor of Arts (Joint-Honours) in 2017 and pursued a MA in Education in University College Dublin graduating in 2019. During her time in UCD, Claire undertook an internship during her studies in Athlone Institute of Technology which gave her an excellent insight into third level education. On completion of her MA in UCD Claire began working full time as Student Recruitment Ambassador for the Marketing and Communications department in Athlone Institute of Technology in September 2019. Amid working as Student Recruitment Ambassador Claire had the opportunity to engage with CAO, QQI and mature applicants both physically and virtually as we pivoted through the Covid-19 pandemic. In May 2021, her career progressed into a more senior role of Student Recruitment Officer within Athlone Institute of Technology. As of October 1st 2021, Athlone Institute of Technology and Limerick Institute of Technology merged to form Ireland’s third technological university, the Technological University of the Shannon, TUS. For Claire, being apart of this merger from a student recruitment prospective this has been an exciting and rewarding challenge in educating and informing students about TUS, the TU sector and the benefits of a TU.
